Some of my Favourite people

I really love to scrap my favourite people, and even though my kids would have to be my ultimate favs…sometimes is is nice to scrap adults.

I used the remainder of my Anna’s Craft Cupboard DT kit to creat these 2 layouts

My BFF Lynn…love this chick!---using MME Funday and OA SidewalkIMG_1431IMG_1429IMG_1430

And I also love scrapping Me and My Sister Susan…She is awesome and definately one of a kind. This photo was taken during a session we had with TMK photogrpahy by Tanya Kember..Layout uses the awesome Basic Grey Picadilly papers

Canvases

I am not usually an Off-The-Page kinda scrapper, but I am loving making canvases as gifts.

I am not into the whole mixed medium stuff, just basically a layout that I can use some really 3D stuff on…so dont get too excited!

December Creating for Anna’s

I cannot believe that the year has gone by so quickly. is it just me or do the years go by faster and faster with each passing year?

This Month the lovely Anna at Anna’s Craft Cupboard sent me the new Basic Grey ‘Picadilly’ range to play with, and here is what I have done with it.

a Layout about our NEW kitten….love the colours in the papers and the cute Nana print designs

I went a bit crazy on the background in this one. The kids were painting so I wanted to replicate the mess!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_0990

these Basic grey die-cut flowers are terrific, some are fabric and some are card, and they layer beautifully.

Anna also sent me the beautiful October Afternoon ‘Sidewalk’ range. I have started to play with it.. check out the super sexy 70’s Mo!!!!

WOW Inspiration…gotta love it!

I just realised that both these layouts look extrememly BLUE cos i have used a lot of blue misting…LOL …oh well.. here they are anyway!

For this layout I have used WOW cogs and cog border as a mask, and also used a WOW flourish in my cluster

IMG_0876IMG_0877IMG_0878

And then for this layout I have used a WOW flourish and used some embossing powder in red, but in order to get the effect on the chipboard I only just heated it til it started to melt so it kept its rough surface…something different

IMG_0881IMG_0882

so there are a couple of different things you can do with WOW

Christmas at Scrap the Boys

This Month Mel has decided that we need to get into the spirit of Christmas and create a layout with a gorgeous colour combo of red, green, blue and white.

Here is my version of the colours. I have used multiple background techniques with mists and paints to create an unusual patterned background and then used loads of pretty thing like pearls, and doilies to make it soft and whimsical

ChristmasIMG_0278IMG_0279

So here is the exact criteria

This month we are going to celebrate Christmas using non traditional colours in a COLOUR CHALLENGE!!!!
Please use the colours from the swatch below and you can also use either 1 or 2 photos and your layout must be Christmas themed... upload to the Scrap the Boys site by 7th Jan 2012

Decorative Backgrounds and your WOW chippies!

44Sometimes I like to really mess up my background cardstock, and sometimes and I like to leave them plain. Just a few different techniques I like to use are misting, masking, negative masking, stamping, inking, painting, scrunching, distressing with sandpaper….but the list is endless.

Here are a couple of Christmas layouts with different background techniques:

-this layouts I have used a Kaisercraft background stamp with ‘olive’ ink, and also used some corregated cardboard to create the cross-hatch markings

IMG_0885

-I have altered the Chipboard piece with white Mr Hueys’s mist, and some glitter paint

IMG_0883IMG_0884

-for this layouts I have used a pre-used mask moistened with a water spray bottle, and used the mask itself as a stamp. Gives a great grungy look

IMG_0880

-to alter this chipboard, I have used texta to colour the individual baubles and then sprayed over Mr Huey’s “Calico Shine” mist

IMG_0879

So why not be a bit daring with your flat cardstock and give it a bit of life. Play around, get creative and have fun…it’s only paper after all!

Merry Christmas and stay safe

Cheers Wendy x x x
